My baby only eats puree, he cannot swallow solid foods!

Pureed foods are of a consistency that can be eaten with a spoon without chewing. Babies between 6-9 months old, who have not eaten anything that they have to chew, may have difficulty in developing chewing skills.

This is the same as always carrying a child and not giving him the chance to walk until he is 2 years old. Pureed food goes back of the mouth and swallowed directly, without chewing. When you give this baby solid food, they try to swallow it without chewing then their gag reflex is activated. It is difficult for puree-fed babies to understand chewing . If you let your baby eat by herself, she will learn to chew first and then swallow.

Transition to supplementary foods and setting up healthy eating habits is very important for the rest of his/her life. It will be a smooth pass if appropriate foods and attitudes are implemented during this transition period.
